Rarely, a patient's breast enhancement goals will change slightly over the years. This patient had received saline implants in a breast enlargement surgery in Los Angeles, but some time after her original procedure she decided to adjust the size of her breasts by replacing her original implants with larger saline ones. After discussing her options with Dr. Yoho the patient decided on a trans-umbilical breast augmentation (or TUBA). Generally the new implants need to be at least 100cc larger than the original ones to make a significant difference in size. This patient's implants were placed under the muscle, through an incision in the belly button, and were revised the same way. This approach prevents the scarring associated with older implant methods. In the rare event that a problem occurs or an implant requires an adjustment, Dr. Yoho can also make some minor changes using the incision in the belly button. However, to revise textured implants or correct the results of another surgeon's procedure, Dr. Yoho may need to make an incision at the areola or the crease under the breast. When she first met with Dr. Yoho at our Pasadena breast enlargement and plastic surgery center, this patient wanted her breasts to be much larger than her original implants allowed. After talking with Dr. Yoho she decided to go ahead with a moderate, but visible improvement. You can see that her results are very flattering and proportional for her body shape. Her breasts are large and full, but not to the extent that they look out of place on her body. The result is a naturally appealing shape that complements her form very well.
